does anyone have one of these 268 bhp versions.
if so could you give us a bit of a review as im thinking of getting one in the future. i will be upgrading from a 2001, 525 and am quite interested in what the new features will be like. i.e direct injection, engine auto turn off, 6 speed box, brake regeneration, run flat tyres etc etc

many thanks

There is no 2008 530i. The twin turbo 535 started in 2008. The last year for the 530i was 2007. The lower end 5er in 2007 was a 528 with the 3.0 inline six tuned to less horsepower.

Sorry, I didn't notice his location (nevermind).

Original poster is in Europe where there is a 530i with the direct injection N53 engine. Sometimes wish we got that model instead of the N54 with the HPFP problems.

Yep , NA got the N54's while every one else got the proven N53's. US and Canada have not had the 530i since 07 model year, I not sure how much help you will get. You may want to got to e60.net , there are a fair amount more Euro cars there than here.

hmmm, i dont think we can get a 535 over here in rainy wales. they are probably worried about traction in the wet :-/

Whats a HPFP problem BTW.

i read that you can chip a 535 to over 370 brake, nigh on m3 power - nice!!

Yes the Proceeds Piggy backs are getting close to 400hp, as are some of the JB's by them selves.

Standard tunes are in the 360hp area, and BMW forth coming tune is like 330hp 340lb/ft.

High Pressure Fuel Pump.

It is currently the Bane of every motored car in North America, 1,3,5, and maybe the x6
There are pages deep threads about reduced power or HPFP in this section.

The 300lb/ft at 1900rpm can be fun , but burns up tires ,and have to be very careful starting out in the wet.
