Hey guys,
Today I want to share my experience with my 2011 535i FBO.
During this past month I've been trying to make my car FBO. Got delayed for about two weeks and a half due to a water pump failure and valve cover gasket leak. After fixing everything I was able to install a catless down pipe, and upgraded VRSF Intercooler. I measured some 0-60 pulls with Stage 0, MHD Stage 1, Stage 2 and 2+.
MHD Stage 1 -> Only ECU Tune, Car Stock
MHD Stage 2 -> ECU Tune and Catless Down Pipe
MHD Stage 2+ -> All the above + VRSF Intercooler
Changed all the spark plugs to one step colder, stock ignition coils.
The car improved a lot with each stage.
I uploaded a YouTube video (attached here) sharing the data I got from the pulls.
To summarize Stage 1 shaved 0.73 seconds on 0-60.
It was hard to do 0-60 pulls with Stage 2 and 2+ since the wheels would spin on start. I included two (after 40 mph) pulls on Stage 2 and 2+ to show the difference with the upgraded intercooler.
As for the IATs, the pull I did on Stage 2 (without intercooler) IATs went from 86 to 133 F.
The next day with the VRSF intercooler, IATs were never above 77 F (pretty much straight line -/+5 F). Very happy with the upgraded intercooler.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions, if there is any other data you want to see, or if you have any questions about the mods.
Also please let me know if I posted this on the wrong section.
