The M Sport package brings the ultimate in sporting makeovers to the new BMW 3 Series. An all-new aerodynamic package for the exterior clearly sets cars specified with this package apart from the base model and the three lines. Added to which, 18-inch light-alloy wheels (19-inch as an option) in hallmark M design, M Sport suspension and BMW Individual High-gloss Shadowline trim give the car that typical M look. The car's dynamic character is further emphasised by an optional exclusive M paint shade and optional M Sport brakes with contrasting blue paint finish. The theme continues inside the car with sports seats boasting distinctive cloth/Alcantara upholstery, trim elements with blue accent strips, an M Shortshifter (in models with manual gearbox), M door sill finishers, an M driver's footrest and the new M leather steering wheel.

Athleticism is inbred in the new BMW 3 Series. Those looking for even greater dynamic character will find just what they require in the M Sport package, including many extra equipment items. Discover its benefits ***8211; from the third quarter of 2012 at your BMW Dealer***8217;s.

The M Sport package with its innovative equipment features is based on the athleticism of the new BMW 3 Series Sedan with Sport Line and turns to the BMW M3 for its appearance. One constituent is the M Sport suspension lowered by ten millimetres with stiffer spring and damper settings as well as harder stabilisers.

Its dynamic character is emphasised by the exclusive M Sport body colour of Estoril Blue metallic, a special aerodynamics package with numerous body components, chromium exhaust pipe finishers, modified suspension settings and M Sport light-alloy wheels with a diameter of 18 or 19 inches. Front and rear bumpers, sill covers in body colour and a striking diffusor insert in Dark Shadow Metallic on the tail underline the sporting character of the M Sport package, exploiting its visual effect to the full.

On the inside, the M Sport package includes the M leather steering wheel with multifunction including short-shifter gear lever (for manual transmission) in soft leather nappa with M emblem and sports seats. The seat covers are in a characteristic fabric-Alcantara design. In addition, there are three further leather finishes. The decorative surface is designed in Aluminium Hexagon with blue accent trim strip. The M emblem decorates the entry sill and footrest. I hate to say it, but the front fenders look a bit like the Infiniti G37.

Finally! The M Sport Package will have it's own sport suspension!

I'm not that impressed by the redesign. The 3 Series sedan continues to underwhelm in the looks department. The M Sport Package helps but Audi (see new A6) just makes better looking cars right now (purely subjective, I know).

Ahh....not liking the interior too much. Is this an Audi A4? I like traditional BMW interiors and this is a marked deviation from the norm. This car does not make me want to upgrade whereas the F10 535 does make me want to upgrade. Lets see how it looks in the flesh...hopefully that steering wheel will get thrown in the trash where it belongs.

The pics in Tim's thread under E30 are way better than these pics and the fugly steering wheel is gone. Looks like we need to wait and see what this thing really looks like. If the other pics are accurate than I say nice update to the E90....almost like a 2nd LCI.

agreed. steering wheel must go. reminds me of a cheap honda accord/civic steering wheel. Why is the sport steering wheel in my E46 infinitely nicer? otherwise, nice car but seems like a minor facelift to the E90. In fact, couldn't they have saved money and just refresh the E90? I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to achieve the same look

Just watched the video for the three lines, the Sport Line does not even have its own sport suspension or sport seats it seems. Must get the m-sport to have them I guess.

While I like the blue, limiting the sport package to just one color is strange.

Finally the F30 328i has the 0-60 bragging right:) Now it is just a matter of how much a tuner can chip it.

What is with the ear-searingly ugly seats in the M-Sport? In M-Sport trim the car looks like a 4 door Z4.

OK the Sport Line will have the sport seats but no sport suspension, therefore only the M package will have the sport suspension. Also the body is hardly dropped.

Are you talking about the Sport Line or the M Sport Package? The Sport Line isn't available in just one color, there was a Melbourne Red one in the premiere and there's a Mineral Grey one in the new 3er Catalogue. The M Sport Package usually offers one color that is exclusive, in this case it's going to be Estoril Blue, but other colors will be available.

In some ways, depending on the harshness of the new sports suspension, the ability to get the seats without the spine compression might be a good thing. :)

Based on the specs so far there will be no "sport package" only the M Sport package, consistent with the F10.
Fixed, what I meant.
