I just purchased my first BMW 535 with 60000 miles on it, but the check engine light is on. Sales lot said the light was for a bad coil. I had AutoZone and Orileys run the codes and it showed p10e4 and p10d6 and each code repeated 3 times. I can't seem to find either of these codes online, but I think they have to do with the vvt. Any clue what they specifically mean? Lot is paying to fix the issue, but I'm just not sure what it is yet. No misfires and the car runs smooth right now.

I would imagine the codes are specific to what ever code reader was used.
Since the lot is footing the bill I would take it to a BMW certified dealer or Indy and have it diagnosed properly.
