Hello all. Have A 2016 bmw 420d convertible. The roof won’t go down. Noticed that the rear passenger window doesn’t drop at all. So I’ve stripped it back to try and get it out and test the motor but I cannot get the window out while the roof is in place and there doesn’t seem to be a manual roof lowering mech.
can anyone advise please before I set fire to it?

Need a tool off eBay. £17. Remove the outside trim that fits against the window. Use the tool to remove the massive “gear” looking bolts/nuts to remove the rear glass. Once this is out you get access to the complete regulator. Remove inner trim and disconnect speakers and cables etc. get access to nuts and bolts. Remove regulator and check motor. Open it up and clean, check for water or replace the whole thing.
