They are not only two different Head Units, but also two different Navigation Options.

You have 609 Navigation Professional with CIC Head Unit and large Screen, and must run PREMIUM Map.

ENTRYNAV Head Unit is for 606 Business Navigation and small Screen, and must run ROUTE Map.

Since you are currently running PREMIUM Map, then you have CIC Head Unit, which is 609 Nav Pro.

If anything, you would want to go to NBT Head Unit, which is newer version of Head Unit for 609 Nav Pro, and not ENTRYNAV.

No matter what, though you are looking at a Head Unit Retrofit here, and not any simple update.

Yes, NBT NEXT Map is a single 32 GB USB Install.

New maps bring new streets, additional POI's, and additional 3D Maps, and improvements to the routing algorithm.

Personally, I think it is always best to have latest Map Database. The degree of gain though depends largely on how much new infrastructure is occurring in your specific area, or new business development (POI's).
