Hi, I will be picking up my first M3 (1998 coupe) in about a week and I know it needs new tires. Until some of the new extreme performance tires hit the market in the next few months, I wanted to mount something up. I happen to have a set of 245/45/17 Falken Azenis RT615s sitting around. If the stock rears run 245/40/17, then these Falken's are .48 inches taller sidewall, 0.96 overall. The fronts would run a little less. Does this car have enough fender clearance to handle this? The car has the factory suspension. I will eventually be running 255/40/17s all the way around. 0.32/0.65 overall. I know the 255s will fit.

Thanks

Wrong side. The .96" of sidewall will be noticeable on turn in, and the effectively taller gearing will hurt acceleration. I wouldn't do it.
