Why? He did not use launch control. Rather pressed his left foot firm on brake pedal and right foot on the gas, thats it, no launch control.

I know but I never thought about "brake boosting" with 2nd gear selected from a dig. It seems to be more efficient. You can enable launch control by coding the EGS module. You may get no flag as the car would require a "flash" update.

I'm just worried about something breaking like when someone does a "neutral" drop with an automatic type of result. I did read the torque is less with higher gears than with lower so I assume the stress should be theoretically speaking less than more but I'm not entirely sure about what goes on w/ the power links.

When you "brake boost" with a turbo setup you actually take-off faster than letting it spool from the start.
