there's a mint 3.0 CS parked in our garage this AM. I'm gonna have to say "Hi" to this guy... love those cars!

CSs are cool

I love those. What's the color combo?

I saw a mint condition light blue 3.0 CS (i?) on the way in to work one day last week. What a gorgeous car. Seriously, IMO, it is the best looking BMW ever built. Period. Bar none.

This ones Grey/Black. Didn't stop to gawk, I'll go down later and leave the owner a note.
I think I'm going to faint

I've found one here in Hamburg. 3.0 CSI. The car is in a very good condition but still can't agree on the price :(
There were some nice ones at the LA BMW CCA Clean Car Contest

I liked this white/red combo

While beautiful, it's too baroque for my tastes.

My father had a 633CSI, if I recall correctly. Car was a disappointment and he got rid of it rather quickly. It replaced a Jag XJS. As I recall, it was too floaty and boaty. Also, pretty spartan inside. Maybe it was just his car but I recall my disappointment too since it was my favorite model car at the time. Still a great looker though. Now my 1972 2002, THAT was a fun car, especially in Colorado where I went to undergrad.

I "appreciate" all of those older, more ornate cars but personally do not care for them as much as some cars that came later. I do think the BMW 507 from the '50s is gorgeous. And I do like Jags from the '60s+ (the XKE is beautiful).

But the ornate stuff just doesn't appeal to me.

Late 40s and 50s Jaguars are the high point in automotive styling.

Look at this XK140 :yikes: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5459&highlight=Jaguar

Have you ever seen a C-Type in person? I saw one at the Ojai Valley resort last summer

73 3.0 CS

Although I have a '00 528i and an '02 325, my favorite "toy" is my Euro Spec '73 3.0 CS. 67K original miles, never seen the snow. IMO the Black 3.0 also appears to be Euro Spec given the bumper configuration and lack of rear sidelights.. Much "cleaner' than the US versions....... I agree that it was one of the classic BMW designs, perhaps the best of the "Production" cars. Although the 8 Series runs a close second....

He's got a 91 Vanden Plas (sp?), which is now his weekend car and a 98 Passat.

Edit:

I just shoot him an email. Let's see if he's got a pic...
