Just guessing, but maybe it has something to do with the brake rotor recall. According to NHSTA, the recall is only supposed to affect cars manufactured in January and February. If your car got to the VPC on April 1 then it was probably built in March which is supposed to be unaffected by the recall. Maybe getting through the recalled units is delaying those that arrived later?

Hi this is my first post, but I have been visiting for awhile. I am currently waiting for a 325xi which has been at the port since April 1 and it still hasn't gone to the VPC. When I called BMWNA they told me that there was some problem with some 3,000 cars and this was the reason for the delay. They didn't offer much other information. I was wondering if anyone knew what was going on. I hope my car isn't damaged somehow.

I think the rotor recall is only for all wheel drive cars...your CI should be OK

Hey thanks. I will sleep better knowing that it may just be brake rotors and not hail damage or some other catastrophy that I had conjured up in my mind. I will take a deep breath and keep on waiting. The suspense is killing me.
