Doesn't the new E90, with only 255HP and half that torque do 0-60 in 6.1s (5.8s according to MT) ? WTFBBQ?

Maybe it has to do with the gearing, we know that Mercedes cars have softer gearing compared to others, in addition to this car is much heavier than the E90.

But a softer gearing would potentially give it a higher top speed, no?
Doesn't the E90 also achieve, if limiter removed, 155mph?

The Euro spec 330i already achieves 155mph (325i runs 152mph)

I am not familiar with the gear ratios on the MB auto trannies, but from various tests between cars with same displacement, MB was always a bit slower than their counterparts.

4k? Do you mean 5k? I bet it's at least 4500 lb. And I bet you're right about the autotragic, but I'll go further and say it's prolly still the 5spd.

It only displaces 1 liter more than the 3.0 BMW Diesel engine and IIRC from the Roundel article, that car (330cd) got aboug 40mpg at average hwy speeds. :thumbup:
