that looks really low.

i currently carry 250/500 coverage across the board, 1K collision, 500 comp, 0 glass. actually thinking of bumping it up to 500/1M. currently paying 480ish for 6mo, the 500/1M will bump it to ~505 for 6mo

an accident could easily wipe out the coverages you're looking at making you personally liable.

50K of property damage coverage wont cover most midsized lux cars.

if it happens to be a lease, bmwfs requires 100/300 coverage.

100/300/100 is bare min with underinsured (duh).

if you have assets you need an umbrella policy (1 mil+) in case you do happen to hit a veyron or a few bimmers with pregnant ladies. or a kid slips on your property and cries yadda.

if you have no assets i guess you could go lower on insurance.

interesting thing bmwfs lets you rock 1000 deductible. most FS required 500 that i've used before. not sure why

Interestingly enough, I got a quote on my e93 and it'll be cheaper than the current e90 with higher limits too for the lease.

I'm guessing it depends on the demographics of their clients-- BMWFS probably thinks most of their customers can afford 1K out of pocket to fix any damage.

i could easily wipe out 300K of coverage if i lost my mind and Tboned the Bentley parked down the row from my car in my garage. or the ferrari two levels down. it all depends on where you live and what else is rolling around.

Here's what I have on my E92

Bodily Injury / Property Damage 250/500/100
Un/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury 250/500
Comprehensive $250 deductible
Collision $1000 deductible
Towing Yes (covers all my cars)

Paying $371 for 12 mos - Erie insurance with multiple car and homeowners discount.

I also have a $1 million umbrella liability policy that costs $103/year. Most insurers require you to carry their maximum liability limits on your auto policy before they will issue an umbrella policy.

50/100/50 is way too low unless you have no assests and don't plan to ever have any.

Property damage depends on what you will hit in your area, two rusty old pickups, or two $100K+ German cars.

Thats a very low premium ....
That's the way I like it!

I get some fantastic rates from Erie.

Annual premiums for my other cars for the same coverage:

2000 BMW 528i - $298/yr
1998 Ford Ranger - $238/yr
1967 Pontiac GTO (agreed value) - $270/yr
1988 Ferrari 328 (agreed value) - $484/yr

$1661/year for full coverage on 5 cars. Helps to live in a low-cost area and have a stellar credit rating. I used to live in a suburb of Houston and paid more than that per year for less coverage on a crappy Ford Contour.
