I have an F10 535xi, I had a E60 530xi, loved it. Love my f10.
The only thing I really miss is the old sport seats.
Don't get me wrong, the comfort seats are fine but the old sport seats fit me just right.
I have a 2008 535i with the Sport Suspension and Sport Automatic and a 2015 535i with the M Sport Package and Sport Automatic: The '08 is more "fun" to drive energetically where the '15 is more comfortable. That said, my '03 540i with the M Sport Package was one of the best driving car I have ever owned.
We have both chassis in our family - mine is the F10 535dx and my wife drives an E60 528ix. I'm with GeorgeT in that I find the E60 to be more light and nimble-feeling (tossable?); it's a slightly smaller car. Obviously the engines have completely different characters. We almost always take the F10 on road trips because it's a bit more comfortable and gets better mpg (and I do most of the driving anyway, might as well use my car).
And, as much of a curmudgeon as I tend to be, I do appreciate the larger LCD and the ability to connect my phone to the F10 for podcasts or audiobooks.
I have owned three E60 Sports, a 2004 525i, a 2008 535i and a 2008 528i. I loved them all and was sad to see them go. Although I do have the 704 M Sport suspension on my F10, I miss the E60 sport package suspension and DSC the most.
