I am getting rid of my335, I have to have something larger, especially something easier to get in and out of. I am really going to miss the power and handleing of the 335. Will a 2-3 year old 5 series meet my need? Which one? Opinions or experience really appreciated. Thanks D7

I'm guessing you'll want to aim for a ZSP-equipped 535, 545, or 550 to get something that can perform similarly to the 335, while providing for more space and comfort that the 3er can offer.

You might also go for an '06 or '07 530, but you'll give up a little bit of power (~265hp). However, there are a lot of cars available, and the price should be competitive.

The '04-'05 530 had the old M54 225 hp engine, so they will likely not meet your needs as you have described them.

Can't comment on the older cars but for me there was no comparison between the 2008 528i and 535i. From what I understand the 528i has roughly the same power as the older 530i. For me it felt a bit sluggish.

So I think you may need the 545i to get the power you're after.

If you are used to 335 acceleaation - it would be worst on 530 or 528 because of additional weight. I have had my 535 for the last 5 months and still enjoy every time i ride in it....

go for 535 or better if you can afford it. wouldn't settle for 530 or 528.
