My 528i misfires when engine is cold, but when the engine becomes warm it stops...:tsk::dunno:

My guess, bad coil(s).

When cold, try disconnecting each coil in turn to see which one has no effect.

alright thanks , but during the misfire when the engine is cold i usually gas out the car very lightly after a while is causes the thermostat to get to the middle and stop the misfiring and shaking of the car.... does that help??

You're just warming the engine more quickly.

The only other thing might be a sticky idle control valve that is not opening when cold. You s/b able to feel the vibrations in the valve. If not, it may be crudded up.

yea cuz at some point if i turn it on and leave it in idle it will misfire then turn off , then i would have to rev it after turning the ignition to get a full start..
