535i Gearbox problem
hi all,
I bought a e39 535i 1997 model it has a 5hp24 zf gearbox(AUTOMATIC 5 SPEED) and the car was driving fine I parked the car at a local shop when I returned to the car now it will not go into drive.
the car reverses fine, but will not drive forward at all. I thought maybe the ATF is low checked it and all good then I thought solenoid changed that and still no luck.
any one have any tips on what could be wrong PLEASE HELP

i have read alot of blogs and forums on several websites including the one that you suggested
i couldnt find any one that duplicated the same problem:bawling:
i rang canturbury BMW (sydney AUSTRALIA) and they want $9000 for a new gearbox
ahh the car is only worth $12000 running :dunno: i dont know what to do im absolutely inlove with it :eeps:
