Hi,

I am hoping if anyone could help with opening the 730i E65 car boot without car batteries.

I had my battery removed from the car boot to try for recharge or replacement. Without the battery in the car boot, I closed the boot lid. When I tried opening the boot with my keys, I found that it won't open. The key turned about 45 degrees clockwise (it cannot turn anticlockwise) but the boot does not unlock.

I tried supplying power/current through the trunk to try to power up the car. Unfortunately, the current will not go in, and the car does not get powered up. Could it be that the battery leads shorted?

Anyone had similar experience? Why doesn't the key work? Hope you could share.

Thanks.

Attach jumper cables from another battery or car to the posts under the hood. That should energize the car for you.

You should still be able to open the trunk with the mechanical lock. My car had the battery removed and I was able to. Just make sure you turn the key all the way. It has to go pretty far
