hello...I am changing the two batteries in my '95 840 ci. Do the cca have to be the same ?
I have a Duralast with 700 cca indicated (does not tell me the temperature rating... and I have a Bosch rated at 700 cca (0 degrees) and 850 cca (32 degrees)...should I just go out and buy another Bosch, or will it be safe to "mix & match" ? thanks, ALT
also, what is this "registering" a battery ? is that applicable here, or will the battery burn out ?
thanks, AL T

Welcome to the forum ... there are many many posts about battery changes & issues for earlier BMW models. I suggest you search for them - and take the recommendations carefully - lots of opinions from "experts" so sorting them out could be confusing.
For openers, it's probable that the battery currently in your car is the 2nd or even 3rd - so basing the required CCA replacement may be based on someone else's good or bad decision. You might be closer to knowing what was originally installed by searching part information for your specific car >> http://www.realoem.com/bmw/

Also I suggest you post the question in the 7 / 8 series sub forum: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=182

Good luck with the hunt :)
