Hi all - Brand new to the forum...yadda yadda... :thumbup:

I'm in the market for an E30 and been doing my research on the various models and waiting for the "right one" to jump on. I'm looking at a 1988 325 eta, I believe it's the "super eta" based on that fact it has the 2.5L cylinder head, but thrown off by the tachometer... I thought this MY revved up to 5500, no? This one shows only up to 5000.

Here's the photo from the CL posting, can anyone confirm if this indeed the correct one?

That's the correct tach for an ETA or Super ETA. The redline didn't change until the M20B25 ("i" engine).

Awesome! Good to know. The "super eta" should still rev up to 5500, correct?

No, 5200. I have worked on a super ETA, and the instrument cluster had a 5k tach, but it could have been changed. The car was a cobbled together mess. I don't believe they had a different tach for the ETA, but I could be wrong.
