My 88 BMW M5 has (re) started blowing hot air out of the fresh air vents once the car has been running 15 minutes or so. This is especially true after the car has been started, driven, parked and restarted. It did this about 6 months ago and at the recommendation of a mechanic, I had the heater core replaced. It has started doing this again after only 1,000 miles of driving.

Turning on the air conditioning does little to nothing at all. This is despite the fact that I had the A/C "refreshed" recently. With the A/C on, it still puts out hot air that is about 15 degrees WARMER than the ambient air. I live in San Francisco where the temperature rarely varies between 55 to 65 degrees. We recently hit 100 degrees, and the fresh air vents were blowing at 125 to 135 degrees with the air conditioning on. Now I drive with the front windows fully down to avoid the heat. HELP. :dunno:

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would suggest going to mye28.com forum where the core of E28 owners reside.
