Hi guys,

I just had my 1997 BMW 740IL brakes serviced and the guys did a great job including new rotors, pads and sensors all the way around and I paid half of what my dealership would have charged me with one exception. The mechanic could not get the BRAKE light to go off and the Check Brake Linings message is still showing up. It really bothers me. The mechanic tried to do some research on his own and couldn't get the indicators to turn off. Does anyone out here know the trick to this?

Had my front left steering knuckle replaced last week and gave them a new pad sensor while they had the brakes off the car. The old one was never connected, and had a jumper on it, just hanging. Started up after it was installed, and the check light was still there. The service mgr put the ignition switch in position 2 I believe, the last position before starting... and left it there for about 20 seconds or longer. That reset the light.

I think I have a bad knuckle, why did you have yours replaced Oboyco? thanks
