Hey guys, i have a 1998 328i sedan and my m52 took its final sh*t. I’m just wondering what would be involved and how difficult a swap for an s52 would be, if i were to find one close in year obd2. I would be doing a 5 speed swap at the same time while i have everything out, i know i would need a m3 clutch/flywheel, and i know most of the mechanical elements should bolt right up. I’m mainly wondering if wiring will be a pain in the ass or if it will go smoothly, thank you in advance!

The wiring should be all the same. Are you getting the S52 ECU?
I am not sure how it works with the 328 ABS.
You might consider getting a 328 ECU tuned for an S52.

well after some research and discussion with my dad, i ended up deciding on just replacing it with another m52 2.8L, as from what i’ve gathered they hold a better foundation for a boosted setup. So now this question is taking a turn to what i’d need for a manual swap and what i’d need to fortify to run a single turbo to make 400whp
