whenever i start the car, the a/c comes on

is this normal or an option that can be modified somehow?

I had always heard that one should not start the car with the A/C on, and BMW does it

I think this exact question was posed before? I don't think it's a big deal at all if the a/c is on. I don't think I've ever shut mine down on any car I've ever owned, and I've never had any unusual problems with my cars. But the easy way to turn on your car without the a/c on is to turn it OFF before you turn off the ignition; it should still be off when you restart later.

Try to reset the memory of your saved seat position/mirror position/climate functions again, this time with the a/c off.

My car does the exact same. I always turn the AC off before I turn the car off. When I start the car, the AC powers on just to the the first line. Ill try the memory trick.

I programed the AC and radio to be off when starting the car by using the memory function and it worked. When I started the car, radio and AC were both off.
