We picked up the 750 on Tuesday and after switching to winter rubber made it into the Alps after a nice visit at Schlöss Linderhof. The TPMS on the snows won't register with the car so we are rolling with the TPMS warning light on :(

Great weather but lots of ice on the roads so I'm feeling better about the expense of the snows - more pics and words to follow.

Congrats on the 7er, it's absolutely beautiful! I swapped my oem tires with edwintertires for the week i was there, had nice weather the whole week, didn't even need the tires and the TPM sensors lights were on for the whole trip. Tried to reset them via iDrive more than 10x but unsuccesful so I gave up and only pushed the car to 172km/h. Could it be because they didn't install the TPM sensors?

Ha, you were smarter than me as I had the big 7 loafing at 140 mph with the snow tires - i think they are rated to 130mph :D

I too tried to reset the TPMS a dozen times and gave up - I'll find out on Monday when I return the winter rubber. It' snowing lightly this morning and supposed to continue so I'm feeling much better about the expense:thumbup:

We stayed at the Burg Hotel down the street but parked in (I think) the Meistertrunks lot :D 3 euro/nite.

You're right! That's why it looks so familiar.

There were cars parked where you parked that day. Excellent shot by the way

Congrats, Dick. I dare you to drive it through Sirmione. How in the world do you get something that large through cities without a police escort?

Thanks David! The drop top 6er was as large a ride as I can sweat through Sirmione - but a better man than me had shoehorned his Swiss plated 750iL to the Hotel Continental there - yikes! Our new "short" wheelbase 750 was a superb long distance autobahn machine but was tight in the small German and Austrian towns...and I don't think I'd want to take it many places in Italy. I was quite relieved to drop off "Das Boot" at LogInOut earlier this week unscathed

I've stayed at the Burg several times previously and find its location to be superb. At least 3 of the rooms are literally on top of the old city walls and have amazing unobstructed views across the Tauber Valley. The proprietor is a lovely woman and the housekeeping is the best I've experienced at any hotel worldwide - period. They offer a nice breakfast but don't have a restaurant so it's a bit like a nice B&B but with huge rooms. In addition to the parking lot I used they also have a big enclosed garage if you prefer to have the car out of the elements. Burg is part of the Relais du Silence affiliations so that gives you a sense of the kind of place it is
