My client advisor calls today to tell me the car is HERE!!!! Arrived at the NJ VPC on Thursday (21st) and arrived at the dealer yesterday!

Unfortunately for the first time in at least a month I have a completely full week of travelling and speaking at various regional VS.NET launch events and can't be home to pick the car up.

Have to wait till Saturday morning.   These next three days will be a killer - will have to "suffer" the '00 328Ci just a few more days.

current: '00 328Ci Topaz/Grey PP HK Xe
new: '02 330i Steel Grey/Grey SP PP CWP Xe

Happened to me as well. I was on business trip when my '02 car arrived in Oct. during the 2nd week I was out of town. I wouldn't be able to be back in Cali until 3 more weeks! Finally when I took delivery of the car it had 39 miles on it. Most likely they let someone test drive it. I wasn't too happy as I specifically told the Sales Mgr that I wanted the car under 10 miles. Needless to say I was so excited about the car I let it go without making a huge fuss. Try to hang in there for the next several days, at least you didn't have to wait 3 weeks like I did. Makes me ill just thinking about it.

Is it legal for dealers to use a sold car for test drive? Thx.

I'm not sure about the legality of test driving a sold car. Either way, it's hard to prove whether it happened or not. They told me they had to drive it into the dealership and also test it to make sure everything was working ok.

I imagine I could have probably made a big deal about it and get some additional freebies. But 39 miles isn't too bad. The Sales mgr could have also taken it home one evening. Who knows, luckily the car drives awesome.
