So, most european magazines reviewed the Clubsport edition of the 3er as a complete waste of money. They claimed that BMW made a cheap marketing attempt at selling cosmetical features, such as adding the "touring" spoiler, M-side mirrors, 18" wheels etc.

After going through my recently acquired euro 3er brochure reveals that BMW actually removed 20lbs of sound insulating materials for the Clubsport edition. And not to mention that Alcantara is standard too. Now who knew that? :dunno:

Then a quick search on my ETK reveals this:

There is in fact a Clubsport edition of this engine screening insulation piece. I presume this piece might be lighter than the regular one. What intrigues me now is just what other insulation did BMW removed for Clubsport....

I'm wondering what the "poor road package" consists of! 14" wheels with 205/70/14 tires + struts from a buick?

Mine looks better!

The mono-look, the front spoiler, the fog lights, the M mirrors and rims are OK. But the rear spoiler is a total disaster. And the interior sucks.

Shouldn't the ClubSport edition be equipped with M side mirrors?:dunno: :dunno:
It should, but unfortunately they aren't.

BTW, I'm really considering the M-Mirrors on the B3.

What do you think ?

AlexB,

1. Just when are you flying over? :D Email me sometime. Guys here are planning something for you. Scott is planning to bring you to some exotic places... :D lol!!

2. Guess what? I started thinking about the M mirrors too. Apparently they can fit onto a sedan. I think they will look really good on a B3.

PS: Is the the new B3 officially known as B3S? Brochures? Pictures?

Well, the project won't let me move anywhere at the moment. But there's still a hope.

Yep, it will be called B3S.

And guess what ? I'm flying to Munich for a test drive :D

i've seen the alcantara seats, the anthricite roof liner and the "cube" trim. all looks awesome except that the "cube" trim doesn't look like it will wear nicely. these are available on the M option on canadian models.
