Anybody have a good way to remove the airbag stickers on the sun visors? I'd really like to hear from someone who's actually done it as the suggestions flying around on roadfly dont seem to work. I tried goo-gone and it didn't do a thing. Someone suggested a butter knife and hair dryer but I'm leary of scraping up the visor.

Well, I was all set to try the bmw330ci.com DIY instructions too, but I decided to see what would happen if I just tried to peel them off with my fingernail.
Worked like a charm. This was the night I drove it home though, so I'm not sure if your stickers will come off so easily.

I did it and it worked perfectly, car was 6 months old. Tape of perimeter of badge. Then apply GOOF - OFF, not goo gone. Apply generously with cotton ball and let it saturate for a few minutes. The badge will craze and then lift. Peel/wipe off and reapply goof-off as needed for residue.SacM3 said:

I took my airbag labels off last weekend. The Goof-Off works well and does the job. As a note you should apply liberal ammounts of vinyl conditioner to the visors afterwards. Mine were pretty rough off from the Goof-Off afterwards(really loose, looked the leather afterwards...)

Who said it was anywhere near the car? The visors come off in about 30 seconds - 2 phillips screws and a tiny plug for the lighted mirror.johnlew said:

Oh, I certainly did and would bet most others did too. Goof off is not a problem and I really don't remember the smell being offensive or strong. I didn't bring the bottle in the car just wet the cotton ball outside the car and then used. I would NEVER put nail polish remover on any material in my car including the visor. It'd be like "polishing" your car with DuPont rubbing compound. Always start mild and work your way up.Yipper said:

There's nothing abrasive in polish remover, it was an analogy. My opinion is that it is a stronger SOLVENT than goof off. End of discussion for me, to each his own. I have no problem with the idea of removing the visors to work on them.Yipper said:

I went to the hardware store yesterday - they had no Goof-Off, instead a product called "OOPS" - that the manager [all of high-school age] said was the same as Goof-Off - exactly the same, the company just relabled it.
Read the label and it says to NOT use it on vinyl - is this also what is written on the Goof-Off?
I bought some "Sticker-Off" that states it is safe on vinyl - also seems to be safe on the stickers 'cuz it sure didn't take them off!

I conditioned with a vinyl cleaner after I was done.
Now I'm left with 2 sticker shaped areas (passenger side worse than driver's) of haze.
Did I do something wrong? Or did I just get the wrong product? Or did I get some mid-year upgrade of uber-stickers?
