I'm looking for a shop that will activate or install and activate an OEM alarm. My dealer wanted $150 for activation alone. There must be a more reasonable way? I see in previous threads that people have gotten it done for $50 or free in other parts of the country. I can go anywhere in the SF Bay Area. Any ideas?

Allison BMW at Mt View & East Bay BMW at Pleasanton

These 2 are the only ones who gave 1/2 hour estimate, with an inflated
rate of 140+/hour, the total comes to around 70.

I am going to take my car to Allison for it is the closest. The guy on the phone
quote 1/2 straight and asked me to wait. The service will be performed
tomorrow, I will follow-up with my results.

Alarm activated by Allison

The Service Advise is Andrew Edesley (last name could be misspell :).

The experience is very positive. The charge is based on 1/2 hour. Actual
time waited in the wait room is approx 30-35 minutes. Everyone is
professionally nice (whatever that means :). Charged $70. Alarm works great.
Had the lock-door-automatically-when-5mph feature disabled as reported
by others, but I didn't bother to have it enabled. I dislike that feature myself
personally.
