Hello,

"All side windows work - ONLY from drivers switch"

I recently purchased my 2009 E61with this problem.

All windows go up and down from the drivers seat control switch. No windows go up or down from their respective seat position switches.
Engaging or disengaging the window lock button on the drivers seat control panel makes no difference. (I believe this shouldn't affect the front passenger window anyway)
Everything else controlled by the drivers seat control switch works as expected.
Can anyone suggest what to check before I start buying replacement switches, etc.

Many thanks - Dahu

That's weird. Have you tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting? What happens if you disconnect the driver door window switches? I haven't looked into my E61's window setup before but I believe all the switches should just be sending a signal to a body module (sorry, not sure which module on the E61 but Google will tell you that). If you have ISTA or INPA installed I would go look at what's happening there. Normally with INPA it will show you the position of all switches and I would be interested to see if it recognizes the input from each of the individual window switches.

Been to local BMW specialist - tried the above, still not working. All individual components seem to work in isolation but don't appear to be "talking" to each other.
Next step is to check the vehicle software and modules (KBM?). Will be done in 4 to 6 weeks time.

Thanks

Fixed !

All 3 single window switches replaced - everything works as expected.

When dismantled, the PCB's of all 3 switches were found to be severely corroded.

Thanks.
