E46 m50b30 from Romania.
Almost finish the turbo project on my e46 sedan, after 2 yrs of searching, buying parts, wrong and good decisions.
In few weeks the car will go to Bulgaria for new Ecu Master Emu Black instalation, soft and dyno... hope to get aprox 600hp.
Here are some pics with the engine, mounts, etc.
Soon, I will add here all parts involved in this project.
More pics to come... and the parts list, hoping this will help other ppl around.
After 2 days...

Continue work...
Unfortunately I got stuck in finishing because of the clutch... is too f..ing brutal... it seems is the wrong the distance between the flywheel and plate clutch. My mechanic will sort it out with a specialist but this makes to postpone the standalone instalation, wiring, settings, soft and dyno. Hope in 2 weeks I'll be done with this.
Meanwhile he'll restrength the chassis and noise insulation in entire vehicle.

Uff, still on process... my mechanic supoose to go to Bulgaria to instal the new ECU MASTER EMU BLACK(awesome standalone) but the 725 twin clutch-Clutch Masters was too brutal. So I'm waiting now for the Hydraulic flow valve control from CM. This valve will maje the clutch softer.
Meanwhile just bought few goodies: new csf radiator and mishimoto expansion tank, revshift race flex disc, 62 degree mishimoto racing thermostat. Also added anti noise-vibrations STP antirust silver for entire car under the carpet. Waiting also for front Braum seats. Hope in 2 weeks will be ready for fuuuuuun

more stuff

New arrivals:
-CSF radiator
-Mishimoto expansion tank
-Clutch Maasters Hydraulic flow valve control-725 Twin clutch is too brutal for daily driving so this would make it softer
-BMW Performance BBK: 135i calipers, 330i stock bmw perf rotors, adapters(brackets) plus new EBC yellow stuff brake pads.
-Braum front seats from Vivid racing
Now the whole carpet is out to make place for noise & vibration cancelation STP Antirust Silver tape, starting from underneath the dashboard till the end of the car including the trunk.
As soon as the radiator, exp tank and the valve will arrive, the car will go for ECU EMU Black instalation on M50 electric instalation platform to Bulgaria... soft and dyno. I hope in 2, max 3 weeks to see my little project finally done.

I was happy to find a 725 clutch with less than 500 miles on it just for 900$ including shipping.
And also at that stage I thought that 725 would be enough for aprox 600hp , not knowing that there are other options too so I end up with it.
ANyway, according to Clutch Masters this hydraulic valve shoud do the job... we ll se...

Was pondering the idea of turboing my e46 330i. Looks more complicated then I hoped.

First, I wanted to buy an m3 and to swap everything.
I couldn t find it at the price I wanted so I decided to go on turbo.
If I knew at that time few things about a turbo project I wouldn t so it honstly.
But the expectations are much higher than m3.
I realised in the end that a real turbo project cost if you want to do it right.

Check if you have a supercharger kit for your vehicle
ANY forced-induction project will require a budget of (at least) $10,000 to do everything the proper way. There`s no "quick & easy" way to big horsepower with BMWs....

You mean to say I can't just throw a cone air filter onto it and get 50 horsepower? Whaaatt?

But for real, I'm not sure what path to go down. I really want a high preformance e46, and my budget doesn't quite span to 10k.

What Fast Bob said is right and I think he is on the same frequence with me here: turbo doesn't mean just to through a turbine and few bits there, it means modifying the whole car... starting with the chassis, bushings, wheels, steering rack, even seats, engine-forged p&r, ECU, etc, etc. Why do you think a stock car with more than 400hp cost more than 100k?
So if you want a reliable turbo project cost. Mine is still ongoing... aprox 23k in the last year. Buuuut, it will be amaziiiing.
Looking forward to post it when finish it. In aprox 2 wks.
For now, few pics with STP Antirust Silver tape for noise & vibration cancelation.

So what you are saying is, you've spent $23k on your car and your wife has no idea you've done this? How is that possible unless you have money just oozing out from every where. Good luck with your build.
