I have a 325 XI. The AM radio reception is very poor. Is there a chance the antenna came unhooked? Can I hook it back easy?

Define very poor. Have you compared the reception to other cars/radios? AM sounds pretty ****ty even with 'good' reception.

My Ford Focus sounds great on AM.... Thought the BMW would be as good as a Focus.

Clean the contacts in the c-pillar. Possibly replace the inline amplifier back there. Make sure the ground is good.

The a-pillars are on either side of the windshield.
The b-pillars are between the front and rear doors (if a sedan).
The c-pillars are on either side of the rear window.

The antenna is in the rear window; the connectors from the antenna are in (not sure which off-hand) one of the c-pillar and often get corroded.
