GOOD TESTING FOR SCHNITZER IN JARAMA

The Schnitzer Motorsport-run BMW Team Germany sustained a two-day testing in Jarama,
Spain, on Monday and Tuesday. «After the crash we had in Vallelunga two weeks ago this was
our first opportunity to cover a number of laps with a car fully complying with the new FIA
ETCC technical specs. We run for two days without having any majior problem and that
helped us to learn something about this new type of machine,» team manager Charly Lamm
said. The team's two drivers, Jörg and Dirk Müller shifted at the wheel in the two days, but
they did not set significant lap times due to a mostly rainy weather. The Schnitzer team is
expected to the test again next week at Magny-Cours, on 26th and 27th March, together with
Volvo Prodrive. In the picture (courtesy Schnitzer Motorsport) the Schnitzer BMW 320i in the

Nick325xiT: Yep! The euro touring car series have been racing with E36 318 and 320. And indeed, they can fly with only 4-cylinders. This was Team Schnitzer last racing STW season in 1998. This was driven by Winkelhock, managed by Team Schnitzer.

Nate: Woohoo! Gotta start building up my model collection too! ;)

AlexB: Believe it or not, Team Schnitzer, although is part of AC Schnitzer, is not a big fan of ACS's accessories. They never race with Type II or III wheels in the touring series. And in the past, the mirrors have been the stock ones. :) Funny how they left the euro licence plate holder on! See this 320i driven by Cecotto back in 1998:

Guys..sorry but I have to post this. I love this 320D. Driven by Stuck, Duez, Menzel, Bovensiepen (son). Won the 1998 24h-Nurburing race. The only diesel on the track.

From Alpina site: "This first victory of a diesel-powered vehicle in an international race was not only a historical achievement, but also proved once and for all that the modern passenger car diesel is now superior to the petrol engine in a number of ways."
