When I picked up my car at the PC, one of the guys mentioned a stretch of road in the NC mountains called 'Tail of the Dragon'. Anyone ever driven it? It seems to be a big biker road...

Go on .org and ask the Z3 guys. I know someone on that board runs that route regularly and still post actively on Z3 board. Or do a search for the dragon run and you'll find some reviews.

That is where I live and I have heard of it many many time..but have never been :bawling:

Been there and have driven it in both a Miata and 318i. It is an awesome road. Keep an eye out for the motorcycles. :thumb:

That's in my area (or neck of the woods). See at the top of the map where it says Knoxville/Maryville? Maryville is about 20 mins from Knoxville. I lived here most of my life, but I've never done the dragon. A bunch of the Z3er's going to Homecoming at the BMW manufacturing plant (Greer, SC) on Labor day weekend do it on the way.

I have been there several times on motorcycles in my college days. Be careful, I have lost more than one friend on that road. Rumor has it that some of the motorcycle racing pros use to practice there before they became famous.

There are some portions of that road that are extremely banked which is cool, but on "S" curves, it can give you sort of a bouncing up and down effect.
