My wifes hates SUV's. She doesnt mind driving our X3 however. I need to replace the X3 as it is coming off lease and thinking about the X5 35d. For those that have gone from X3 to X5, what are your thoughts?

Any remorse?
Does it feel much bigger to drive?
How does the handling compare?

Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

I went from a 2003 X5 to a 2007 X3, expecting to really miss my X5. I only leased the X3 for 2 years, I now have a 2009 X5. I miss the X3 because it was nimble, fast, fun and easy to park in NYC.

That being said the ride, transmission, and overall comfort in the new X5 are far better than the X3. The 3.0 X5 is quick enough but not as fun to drive as the X3 was.
The X5 size does take a bit of time to get used to, but I once I started driving it regularly I have really gotten to enjoy the increased drive height and comfort of the bigger car.

I was strongly considering a 528i instead of the X5, but after both my sister and financee (a pair of SUV haters) drove both vehicles, even they agree the X5 was the right choice.
