Sounds suspiciously like a snipe hunt...:tsk: I'd be game, but I think the trip to New Hampshire would be a bit much. By the way don't forget mother's day-Sunday as you plan your weekend

Worth a shot. Worst case scenario I'll just have to break down and buy my own. :p

NH is just a touch far. :)

:tsk: Man, a 2 ton floor jack, 2 jack stands, and a rhino ramp will run you $150. You can afford a $35k+ car but can't spare $150? Sheesh.

Oh well, if you reconsider.... we have all the pollen you could possibly breath up here....
We came up just short of a 2500 pollen count a couple weeks ago. :p

You are wasting you time. Been there done that. Confirmed to me by several independent BMW shops.

NO CDV.

Have the shops checked all 3 types of transmissions? 323/5, 328/30 and xi all use different transmissions.

Except that there have been quite a number of indications that the xis use 5 series series transmissions and drivetrains. Hence, along with numerous reports that the xis DO INDEED have a CDV, I find it an utterly worthwhile goal.
