There's some posts on things like this out there... check some other car entertainment forums or ask on e46fanatics, i know some of the guys there know how to do it.
you could always ask a local shop as well, but they might not want to tell you if you didn't get it installed there
i believe it has something to do with connecting the ebrake signal to ground or something...
