I collected my brand new BMW X5 45e a few weeks ago. The dealer told me that it doesn't currently have Apple CarPlay, and that it will become available once BMW release a software update which could be 'any time this year'. Does anyone know when this is likely to be? I'm very annoyed it doesn't have it! Thanks

I have seen it posted that the current version (03/2022.xx) at dealers now have the code in it to enable CarPlay. I personally won't believe that is the case until I see more reports. Originally the fix was supposed to be out in the late Spring/early Summer timeframe.

Some of the new BMWs are being shipped with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality blocked, but a software fix is coming in June.

I ordered my 2022 X5 XDrive 40i on 12/17/2021. Four weeks , 3days later it arrived with Apple Car play.
