Go to bmwfans.info or realoem.com and look up the transmission for your car and the transmission for the 328i to see if they're the same part number.

 

Is your current automatic transmission working OK? If so, why spend money on yet another automatic you may or may not need? Save that $$$ for the manual swap.

 

Current transmission took a crap yesterday

 

Found one can get it purchased and installed for under 600. My only concern with the transmission is on the bottom of the transmission theres grease on it. I can post a picture if that helps but is that something I should be concern about?

 

If it's engine oil it just means the car it came out of had a rear main seal leak.

 

Okay. I'm pretty sure its engine oil but how I would make sure of that?

Nah. When you asked about the oily stuff, I had suggested to taste it. But I edited that because it's probably not a good idea haha. I know I can identify fluids by taste though.

OBD2 has different plug. You got to buy 92-95 , the 97 won't work for you

 

I talked to the shop and was told he could change the valve body with that has a OBD1 so he can install the transmission into my car. Is that correct?
