yep.

two options are currently available on the market (which are relatively affordable): RMS aftercooler and the AA water injector.

the third option is a custom air/air intercooler.

i'm at the point where i'll be selling the car in about 3-4 months, so i'm pouring money into racing slicks instead. if i decide to keep the car longterm, i will definitely get intercooling installed.

thanks for the heads-up.

some thoughts...

i'm considering three options currently.

a 1995 e36m3 lightweight: these cars have those front splitters and whale tails? handpicked motors. since it is OBD1, it is very amenable to lots of tweaking.

a 1997 993tt: this is the last of the aircooled turbos. allwheel drive, too. but it's a tad heavy and the turbo lag is definitely noticeable.

a 2002 996 C4S: this is the most likely candidate. it has cubic inches on its side for torque (3.6litres) and only weighs 3200 pounds with AWD. i can trim that easily down to about 3000 pounds and have an ideal sports car (for me).

my magic number is ~3000 lbs, >300hp, and manual transmission.

not easy these days.
