Dealers will receive their September build allocation in July.vodc4 said:
Yes, but not for a 2003 model in September. Factory starts building 2003 models in September and it takes at least 1 month to reach shore of U.S. Most likely a mid to late October is your best bet.
Sure. You can even order in January of 1990 and specify that you want a 2003 3 series and some dealership might even be able to accomodate you on that. It doesn't matter how early you order, you can place an order in July and specify that you WANT a 2003 model, and the dealer will only submit the order as soon as their September 2003 allocation is confirmed (if your dealership is semi competent). Just keep in mind, when you get your car depends on the amount of allocation the dealership has, when and where it's built, and where you will be taking the delivery of your car. Best case scenario, your dealership has an open allocation in 2nd week of September, the car is built in Germany, shipped 2nd week of september and you take delivery on the East coast near New Jersey. You may get your vehicle by the 2nd week of October. If you live out west, your dealership doesn't have an allocation until late September, and it's being built in South Africa, you may not see your car until early December.
It's all luck of the draw.
