Around here we have tight courses that force us to repeat sections (usually with a variation on the second pass) and that double back on themselves. The course route will cross itself many times and the total cone count is under 50.VinceTopasBlau3 said:Doh!
Am I the only one who opts for shorter course/more laps? :dunno:
Well, here's my excuse. My first AutoX was at LA and the second at SD. I really enjoyed my first event. The second was held at a more spacious stadium parking lot, hence a longer course. But I was irritated with the fact that I had less practise laps (6) compared to the LA event (10). Perhaps I am still in the novice stage, I can't remember the turns very well for the longer course. And just when I familiarised myself, the moment has come for the timed runs.
Oh well...
I can't believe you get that many runs! :yikes:VinceTopasBlau3 said:Doh!

No practice runs here, just walk the course
I thought 120 on Sunday was excessive :yikes:JT - '02 330i said:Heck in the SF Bay area, at SCCA events we get 3 runs. No practice at all. Entry fee is $25. So that roughly translates to $8.00 per minute of seat time.
Wish there was more options. BMWCCA, events are about 2.5 hours away, and you only get 4 runs. Too many people wanting to race, and not enough locations.
(On April 3, the event had 340!!! people show up to run.) Norm is in the mid 200's)
I'd be happy if there was more events.
