My F10 was doing great until I parked it for 3 or 4 weeks. When I started it up I got a long list of codes, see below. I also primarily drive short trips 6-10 miles daily then 20-30 miles on weekends.

So I have two circumstances that lead to low voltage issues which I suspect is the source of the problem.

I got the codes below from my OBDLink LX/app but I cannot seem to clear the codes, or at least when I do, they immediately come back on start up.

I'm not a skilled mechanic but with instructions I can usually get things working. so here are my questions...

I want to determine if battery is bad. How do I do that? What voltages should I expect? running? not running?
How do I assess the alternator/regulator?
Should I get a charger and "top off" the battery?
Should I just go ahead and get a new battery?

Your generic OBD-II codes are almost useless for troubleshooting. We must know the BMW hexadecimal Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

Yes, you should get a battery CHARGER and use it frequently and regularly.

Batteries can last eight years under the best of circumstances. BMWs are hard on their batteries. Four years is a good average life. A battery charger will maximize battery service life as it is correlated with average state of charge.

You do not have the skills or instrument to “assess the alternator / regulator.”. The ECU controls the output of the alternator.

Now a shady tree-mechanic with a multimeter will be along to contradict.

How old is your battery? Do you have access to a battery tester?

The fact this happened after the car sat for 3 or 4 weeks and the battery is the original, I would change the battery with the correct AGM battery and register. If you are lucky, this will be your only problem.

I got a Super Start from O'Reilly's based on my brother's recommendation. He's a BMW service tech.
I was able to register the battery.
also downloaded/purchased the Bimmer-Link app but so far have been unsuccessful at clearing the codes.
Should have so help this weekend to figure out the code issues.

You need the platinum because platinum is AGM, premium is not.
