My e60 is having a battery drain issue. Even if the car goes into sleep mode the icv and disa valve stay powered on. I've got a bunch of can errors. I'm thinking maybe the voltage regulator or ibs is causing this?

A few other things...

First off, I just purchased this car, it runs and drives great, just has all these codes. I got it for $1800.

The car has a lead acid battery in it. The battery doesn't have a sticker or anything at all that I can look up to get specs. The only markings at all is a green "Econo power" sticker.
I looked up a few similar sized batteries and they were all between 80-95 ah.
So I opened ncs expert and coded the battery from 110ah to 90ah but when I started the car the idle started surging badly, bouncing between 500-1000 rpm or so. switched the ah back to 110 and it went back to normal.

So does someone more experienced than I am have any ideas? I was thinking voltage regulator? the alternator charges the battery but I believe it is under charging. I will check the voltage when the car is off as well as running when I get home from work today. Unplugging the ibs doesn't change anything. But from what I recall it was around 13.7 when running and 12.3 when off. Battery is good, and yes I plan to get a new one but I feel the problem is more likely ibs or voltage regulator. In Inpa the ibs shows all 0s
Any help is REALLY appreciated!

a car with an FLA battery installed should not be running an IBS. theyre for AGM's. looks like someone just popped an FLA in to a car that originally had an AGM.
whats the battery and charging voltages?
coding AH rating needs not be done for an FLA.

Lots of E60's including my 05/2009 build were delivered with FLA battery and have fully functional IBS.

Should include my dash also stays on.

Does this ignition information look correct?
kl30 has no voltage. My understanding isnit should always be hot?? Does anyone know what that is?
I've read that a bad ignition switch can cause these type of weird electrical issues

Clear the codes and see what comes back.
Charge the battery and disconnect overnight. Does it hold charge disconnected? This will rule out a self discharge issue w/battery.
Any water under spare tire soaking the modules there?
Search and install ISTA. You can prioritize the codes and run test plan for each....93FC, . It also has an energy diagnosis test under Service Functions that can identify parasitic loads.

Today I found one of the connectors to the dme was wet with an oily substance. I took it apart and did not see any evidence of excessive heat or water making its wat anywhere else. After cleaning and reinstalling the problem is still there and the car still runs fine. I have a voltage regulator and ibs on order. If it's not those then I'm going to test the dme.
I badly want ista but haven't figure out where to find a licensed version. I've been doing everything with the programs that come on bmw standard tools. Inpa, ncs etc.

The wiring diagram ive been looking thru does not have much on the can bus and that is the diagram I need. Maybe im just not seeing it..
Luckily ista is downloading.

second question, im planning to chase down whatever module is causing all of my can bus codes, do i need to have the battery disconnected while disconnecting modules? Is there anything I should avoid doing so I dont damage the car. Is there a better way? the ista download you sent is downloading as we speak!

Thank you so much for any help! I am having a ton of fun learning about all of this. Crazy thing is that this is my 5th bmw. I have kept a few e90s an E46 and an x5 on the road without any BUS knowledge at all lol.
