I did a search and didnt find what I was looking for. The battery warning light just started coming on intermittently. Just got a new battery about six months ago. Does this sound like an alternator problem?

New batteries are not maintained charged while on the shelf awaiting sale. You may have purchased a new almost dead battery. A BMW will never ever fully charge its AGM battery for the ceratain marginal damage caused by the slightest overcharge.

Here is how to check a BMW BSD alternator.

Battery light on the dash usually indicates a failing alternator or charging issue .. Get a volt meter and check for a minimum of 14 volts while car is running ..
