How often did you call to get the status number when your car was being built? I'm wondering how bad I am compared to everyone else here. :D

I'm just at the beginning of the process, but I have called several times already. I would call more often, but I'm afraid that they log it!

I don't understand why the Owner's Circle can't be more accurate. I have read that they update it M-W-F. All mine says is "Estimated Build Date: 4/26". Is it a secret that it is in 151 right now? I would prefer having access to the status online over having to call. Better yet, they could e-mail me a daily snapshot of where it's at, including a pic of it on the assembly line. {grin}

I know, I know... knowing how far along it is won't make it get here any faster. :tsk:

I called up to 3 times a day. :D Some of the reps knew me by my voice. It was nuts. :thumb:

BMW's information is generally real-time until it reaches Bremerhaven, where I found it was a day behind. It goes back to real-time when your car reaches the VPC, and then it goes into the black hole when it gets on to the truck (unless you try calling the trucking company's logistics department and get a real-time read on where the truck is -- note: the don't like that very much).

Oh, and they do log it. :D

While it was true that Al used to call BMWNA at least 3 times a day, the reps on the other hand was planning something even bigger for Al. They set up the infamous Z company. That's right! The Z-A-I-N-O brothers work in the BMWNA Customer Service department....

Al, there is no win-win situation in this business. If you bother them, THEY WILL GET BACK AT YA!!!

I called twice a day and I got sucked into Alpina. :lmao: :lmao:

Ahh..those crazy Org days.... :D

How many times did you call Alpina lately, Vince ? :D
They've probably increased security on warehouse where the rest of the switchtronic wheels are stored. :D

You just know Vince can't live with having just 1.

I was really hoping they didn't log it. This is going to get embarassing.

The guy I talked to today must have noticed that I called yesterday, because he told me what was going to happen tomorrow too - probably so I wouldn't call.

Anyone happen know the IP of the system dealers use to get this info? I'm just... curious. I won't do anything malicious, I swear. ;)

I will refrain from calling again until Monday. Wait, they don't work on it over the weekend do they? Quick! Someone hide my phone from me!

PS I am also monitoring the weather over where the factory is located. Is this normal behavior?

Nah, if BMW finds it to be a problem, they will fix the status system to be real-time online.

You could alternate between your dealer and BMW. The dealers also have the ability to get real-time status, although they typically just do a morning status printout. My dealer was happy to respond to my emails. All 500 of them. :D

Sonet start the Prozac now, if you become Alee II I don't think the detail board will be able to handle all the posts;) :D

My rep used to play with me and only respond to every other mail:mad: But he would always click OK to my automatic reply:confused: I think they some times enjoy teasing those of us in wait....BASTARDS:(

Become Alee II?

The entire undercarriage of my 15-year-old daily driver is spotless, and the wheel wells have been detailed weekly since day 1. I won't even mention the engine bay - or the rest of the car for that matter. ;) Yes, I'm fully aware that nobody looks under the car or even at the engine (they probably don't look at any of the car at all!). But I don't do it to please other people, I do it so I can sleep at night. I realize my unfortunate condition, and every *true* perfectionist knows it's an evil curse bestowed upon them at birth.

So, Alee II... I would say that I'm already there, wouldn't you agree?

I'll try to keep my contributions to the detailing board at a minimum... teehee

Pass the crack pipe when you're done. It's my turn again. :D

You California folks with your nice weather. My baby has already driven through snow, ice and salt. There's little hope for my undercarriage, other than the cosmoline protecting it. :D

Do I have to drive all the way to the Amish village when I need to use it? That hardly seems fair. :D

But I won't charge you rent and dinners on me every time you come out:p Look at another plus, plenty of scenic areas for you to break in that new Canon S40:thumb: And you stop by the outlets and let the g/f do a little shopping.:eeps:
