hi all, I have a rather strange project going, and need to get down to the cylinder heads (not actually inside, just free access to the sparkplugs).

has anyone dissasembled the top parts of the engine (plastic covers and such) and gotten down that far?

TIA

What Model (98-00 or 01-02)?

It's not hard to get to the plugs.
Just remove the bolts holding on the covers.
Where (on the headers) are you getting the EGT?

On a more modern note, when I put a Buick 3.8 V6 into an MGBGT that I had, I put an O2 sensor in each header collector and monitored the A/F ratio that way.

tolerences too close just getting to plug

the 6 inches of tube that you have to dive down into is not wide enough to acommodate the wrench socket and the CHT sensor =(

I might make a custom tool that is thinner, but am hoping that getting down to the cylinder heads themselves is possible (install sparkplug, and sensor, then reassemble everything on top)

if it was just 1mm wider!

shucks =(
