Within 4 hours of finding some bird droppings on my car, I carefully cleaned them up. Unfortunately, a very small 1/8" diameter section of the paint still has some remains of the bird dropping that are impossible to remove through washing the car.

What's the best product to deal with this without further affecting the car's paint?

Post this in the Detail forum, Alee, one of the moderators there, will give you the recipe. Personally, when I find the droppings, I carry alittle spritz bottle of distilled water and another of Griots Detail spray and a couple of cotton cloths to immediately remove it. Once it sits for awhile, it can acid etch into the paint.

1. Run lots of water on it to soften the crap.
2. Slowly scoop up remains with a cotton cloth (do not rub it in - birds eat sand).
3. Wait for acid/contaminents to evaporate from clear coat (48-72 hours).
4. Wax.
