Best way to remove tree sap?

I'm assuming the sap is on the body of the car somewhere. However if it's on the windows you can use isopropyl alcohol, it takes if off in seconds. I'm not sure how safe it would be to use on the paint though?
The alcohol isn't bad for the paint, however it will strip any wax or polymer that was on the car so you will have to re-apply a protectant.
