I heard there is good shop called bimmer clinic in 1001 Route 1 South (US Highway 1)
Avenel, New Jersey. The rate is $95 which is not bad for experienced bmw mechanic. The issue is they don't drop you to the bus/train station and the phone and email seems never get replied.
I have the following questions if anyone went there before.
1. how professional is the mechanic?
2. how is the pricing * hour?
3. is 0.5 hour checkup free waived if you fix the problem at the shop or is it just extra
4. how do you go to work to NYC if you drop car from there?

Any one can suggest a reasonable body shop. I have some rust in the run roof.
Also would like to know if there is other good /reasonably priced mechanics in northern NJ. Thanks.

Is there a map showing good mechanics in tri-state area or in US? I couldn't find one so I start to mark in google map. It's public so mark your favorite mechanics there. Thanks.

1--- Bill is very professional and does quality work
2--- Much cheaper than a dealer.
Try again with phone or e mail.
I had brake work done by them and was very well satisfied.
As far as body work I used JMK BMW certified body shop 4 times and never had one complaint about there work. Good luck
cheers

Bimmer Clinic is an awesome shop. Those guys know their stuff. Very fair and trustworthy and they have been doing BMW's for years on end. Also, they are VERY busy. At any given time, there are atleast 10 cars in the lot waiting to be worked on.

Good Luck on your search but if you ask anyone that has went to Bimmer Clinic before, most would say the same about them - good dudes.

Yes, Bimmerclinic is awesome, although I haven't been there in 2 years since I'm under warranty with the e60. But that's just right around the corner

I bought a new BMW and I am near the 7,500 mile. I want to get an oil change before the 15,000 maintenance service. Do you recommend indy shop or BWM dealer? Also, they won't reset the computer if I do the oil change if I tell them right?

I also heard good things about Bimmer Clinic, but it is a bit far from me.

If you're covered for free oil changes then just do that. I was by the Bimmerclinic today asking about some work done, looks good there.

That's what I want to do but after reading about it more, most people do a change at 7500 and then follow the 15000 intervals. Some even do it every 7500 miles. If by me changing it every 7500 will prolong or keep the engine healthy for a long time, it is a small amount of money well spent.

For Sync oil change, over 10 year old car, how many miles to change oil? Some told me every 3k some told me every 5k or 6k.
Using 7500 as a target oil change interval is a good idea. I`ve seen several very detailed analyses from Blackstone Labs, and they claim that even full synth oils begin suffering significant breakdown beyond 7500 miles.
