My new convertible is plagued by this black sticky material that seems to "leak" onto the roof panels when the roof is stowed in the trunk (i.e. the top is down). I think this stuff is used in the seals between the panels. I can't find any solvent that easily removes it so I am stuck trying to rub it off with my fingers.

Anyone else have this problem and know of a solution?

tnx,
Mat

I solved my problem with soap and water. Funny that the solvents didn't do anything, but meguiars nxt soap and water and a little elbow grease worked great.

I haven't contacted them. I have no basis for this opinion since I have not used them, but based on Acura and Lexus experience, I don't think they would have been helpful.

Enamel reducer makes short work of the 'grease'.
